If you are looking for a beer with strong character, rough edges, a challenging taste and complexity, you have come to the wrong place. However, if you are looking for a refreshing treat for in between meals, a tasty thirst quencher or a down-to-earth after-work beer, then the Eichentaler Lagerbier Hell is the right choice.
The classic is produced in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law in the Passau brewery Hacklberg and flows out of the bottle in crystal-clear gold. A stately crown of fluffy, white foam rises and exudes a gentle scent of hearty grain and creamy toffee. The first sip reveals a slim body with a silky texture and mild taste. The main component is the malt, which combines soft caramel notes with sun-ripened grain and a hint of honey. The brew has an alcohol content of 4.9% and is very moderately hopped.
Because the Eichentaler lager beer has such a subtle taste, it goes well with both strong and light dishes. It tastes great with grilled delicacies, but can also be served with dessert. We like oven-fresh brownies with nuts, dark and light chocolate, a dollop of cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
