This beer comes to us in Germany directly from the sunny beaches of California. And we really mean the most direct route, because this IPA is a very special beer.
Brewers have the privilege of always being the first to taste their creations. During the brewing process, they taste the raw material and get to know their beer in a way that is usually unattainable for the end consumer. Now the brewers at the Californian brewery Sierra Nevada are giving us the opportunity to try a beer in its raw state. Hazy Little Thing is an IPA that was unprocessed and canned straight from the tank.
A diamond in the rough!
Hazy Little Thing presents itself in a cloudy gold tone in the glass and forms a fine, white head of foam. A well-balanced mixture of hops and malt rises from the foam. On the nose, soft caramel and roasted malt combine with the freshness of tangy citrus fruits, a little juicy pineapple and a hint of pine resin. The initial taste is hoppy: orange and lemon make their debut, joined by pineapple, mango and passion fruit. The malt stays discreetly in the background. The IPA from California is pleasantly dry and shows a nice bitterness that increases towards the finish.
Fruity, juicy, sweet, slightly sour and beautifully bitter - exactly what we hope for in a good IPA!
