The peach is a midsummer delicacy. At the end of June, you can pick the first ripe fruits from the tree, and if you’re lucky, the harvest lasts until October. This summery stone fruit is distinguished by its unmistakable skin: Its skin, ranging in shade from elegant white to deep red, is covered with a velvety-soft fuzz that differentiates the peach from the nectarine. There are hundreds of different peach varieties, and the fruit has been cultivated for thousands of years. We love its wonderfully sweet, juicy flavor and enjoy it both raw and in prepared forms. You can conjure up delicious desserts with it. Our favorites are peach pie with buttery crumble topping, preserved peaches, baked peaches with cinnamon and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, peach jam on a slice of well-buttered sourdough bread, and Grandma’s airy peach and cream Swiss roll. Or how about Sierra Nevada’s latest stroke of genius, Peachy Little Thing!
The idea for this exuberantly fruity IPA came to the team during the hop harvest. While selecting hop varieties for the upcoming brewing season, they came across the Alora variety and were immediately captivated by its enchanting peach aroma.
Alora takes center stage in Peachy Little Thing, delivering a beer that combines the aroma of freshly harvested peaches with hints of nectarine and cherry, floral undertones, and a delicate bitterness. A feast!
