Freshly tapped beer from the barrel is the greatest pleasure for beer fans. The cool barley juice bubbles golden into the glass, piles up a majestic crown of snow-white foam and smells seductively of all kinds of nuances of hops, malt and yeast. Straight from the barrel, the brew has an incomparable freshness and (from our subjective point of view) tastes different than when it was previously bottled.
The Miller Brewing Company wanted to replicate the pleasure of drinking freshly tapped beer in a bottled beer and went through a painstaking process to develop Genuine Draft. Using a patented process that involves cold filtering the brew four times, Miller created a brew that is very similar to the smooth texture and fresh flavor of freshly tapped beer.
Miller Genuine Draft flows into the glass in crystal clear amber gold and is crowned with a hand's breadth of coarse-pored, white foam. A gentle composition of light grain, freshly mown grass and hay drying in the sun rises to the nose and entices you to take a sip. The taste is made up of a very similar bouquet: soft, subtle malt, grassy notes, oven-fresh bread and a honey-like sweetness envelop the palate. Genuine Draft has a slim body, is lively carbonated and has a rather mild taste.
