The Rodenbach Alexander goes back to the founder of the Rodenbach brewery, Alexander Rodenbach. The ambitious businessman was born in Roeselare, Belgium, in 1786 and distinguished himself as an extraordinary person from an early age. When he lost his eyesight at the age of 11, he was not discouraged and strived for a successful career. He manages the Rodenbach brewery and is also involved in politics. He becomes mayor of Rumbeke, works as a writer and is a member of parliament. In honor of this fascinating man, a beer was dedicated in the year of his 200th birthday that is equal to him in class and extravagance.
The Rodenbach Alexander is a beer made from old beer aged in oak barrels and young beer infused with cherries. In this traditional process, the Rodenbach Alexander gains its unique taste and becomes something very special. The sour fruit ale is a typically Belgian classic and is now enjoyed far beyond the borders of Belgium. It’s no wonder that the Rodenbach Alexander shines with fruity aromas of sour cherries, which are accompanied by a delicate note of wood. The barrel aging gives the beer its very own character, the cherries give the drink a wonderfully fresh, fruity note.
We recommend the Rodenbach Alexander to everyone who wants to treat their palate to a bit of a change from traditional beer. The sour beer is a delicious challenge and the cherry on top of a particularly hot, dusty day.
