The British brewery Fuller’s has been producing the popular vintage ale for years. The first vintage ale was issued in 1997 and was the beginning of a success story. The vintage ale is a strictly limited number of artisanal beers that mature to their full glory in the bottle. Every year there is a new recipe for the special beer specialty and every single beer connoisseur can refine it even further by putting the bottle in the cellar for a while. The yeast added especially for the purpose of further maturation ensures that the beer lasts longer than usual and becomes better and more complex with the passage of time. The Vintage Ale is the culmination of every brewing year at Fuller’s and a project close to the heart that brewers have been proud of for more than 20 years.
Actually, this beer is a real collector’s item. But actually it’s too good to just stand on the shelf. The decision is yours.
Fuller’s Vintage Ale 2016 is an extremely rich barley wine with a strong 8.5% alcohol content and a distinctive aroma profile. The special beer is presented in bright copper in the glass and forms a small, slightly tinted head. A fine bouquet with notes of caramel, candied red fruits, spicy honey, jam and flowery honey rises into the nose and awaits you in terms of taste.
However, the smell and taste depend entirely on when you open the bottle. Exciting!
