The traditional Dutch brewery La Trappe has been brewing a stable range of down-to-earth Belgian classics for over 100 years. In sanctuary silence, the team produces classics like Tripel, Dubbel, Wit, and Quadrupel. But that doesn’t mean that something truly special doesn’t occasionally emerge from the brewhouse. In addition to its core range, the brewery regularly delivers seasonal delicacies and special brews.
One of these strictly limited beers is a tribute to a true crowd-pleaser from La Trappe: The Belgian Blonde Special Edition 2025 draws stylistically from La Trappe Blonde and takes the award-winning golden boy to the next level. With a hefty 7.0% ABV, the special edition brings a bit more gusto to the glass than its role model, and the list of ingredients is also a bit more sophisticated: A quartet of four different grains not only gives the brew its wonderful deep golden honey color, but also ensures a smooth, full-bodied, and characterful flavor.
This copper-hued specialty is crowned with a cap of fine, creamy foam and delights from the first sip to the last with intense aromas of ripe banana, spicy yeast, gently roasted malt, and delicate hops. The alcohol is skillfully integrated into the interplay of flavors.
