Although the Netherlands can hardly be described as a tropical paradise, the sun shines often enough in the country northwest of Germany to make solar systems profitable. For this reason, the Oedipus brewery has decided to rely on renewable energy and invest in photovoltaics. In order to be able to afford the 24 panels, the team launched a crowdfunding call. With the help of generous donors, they were ultimately able to convert part of the operation to solar energy and brew the world’s first Solar Session IPA.
The creation is called País Tropical and is brewed year after year in honor of the supporters of the solar project. The beery Thank You contains the hop varieties Citra, Mandarina Bavaria and Mosaic as well as 5.0% alcohol content. A handful of wheat and oat flakes make the brew a silky-smooth delight for the palate.
The beer is yolk yellow and has an airy crown of white foam on the heavily clouded body. It smells like a cocktail of pineapple, mango, papaya, guava and mandarin - an excellent first impression that continues immediately after drinking. A juicy variety of tropical fruits combine with floral hops, stone fruit, sour citrus notes and a crunchy bitterness to create a true culinary delight.
We carry this tropical getaway in bottles and cans.
