In its almost 580 years of existence, the Hofstetten brewery has brought countless beers onto the market. Some of them are popular for a while and then replaced by new ones, others are more persistent and enjoy such great popularity that they remain part of the core range for years or decades. One of these brews is the Honigbock. This high-proof delicacy is brewed with selected raw materials and the finest honey, and although it is not always made from the same ingredients, it has long been one of the brewery's most popular beers.

In addition to water, yeast, hops and malt, honey is a must on the ingredients list of the honey bock. A honey from Tuscany was used for the chestnut honey bock of the year 2014. Thousands of busy bees have collected the nectar of the chestnut blossom and used it to produce a particularly fine honey that is characterized by its tart, slightly bitter and slightly less sweet taste. It gives the bock beer a powerful sweetness, a velvety texture and a fine taste that brings woody, tart, floral and caramel components to the tongue. Because the beer was brewed and bottled more than 10 years ago, the aroma is wonderfully round, harmonious and complex. The impressive 12.8% alcohol content gives the chestnut honey bock Vintage 2014 the finishing touch.
