Strong, intense beers are the specialty of the Irish Brehon Brewhouse. In addition to the local ales, which they of course also master, it is Seamus' dark beers that appeal to us.
The Ulster Black Oatmeal Stout enchants you as soon as you pour it with its typical stout color. It comes in a deep black mahogany tone and forms a relatively stable, fine-pored foam. The latter is hazelnut brown. The Ulster Black Oatmeal Stout is, as the name suggests, brewed with oat flakes. These bring a nice creaminess to the beer and give it texture and depth. What is surprising is that the stout only has an alcohol content of 5%. It smells and tastes much more, the strong body gives the impression of a strong beer. In terms of taste, the smooth stout initially welcomes us with a nice note of freshly roasted coffee. The bitter notes of coffee and roasted malt are elegantly integrated and are offset by a full-bodied chocolate note.
The Ulster Black Oatmeal Stout is an unusual representative of its kind: it is particularly drinkable and harmonious and impresses us immensely.
We recommend the Ulster Black Oatmeal Stout to all Ireland fans and those who have always dreamed of hiking through the green hills of the island!
