Budweiser is one of those beers that is at least as well known abroad as it is at home. The legendary lager is drunk in the United States, across Europe and certainly beyond. We don’t know what the secret of the Czech classic is. What we do know, however, is that it tastes quite sweet and delicious.
The basis of the beer is crystal-clear brewing water, which is obtained from a 300 meter deep well. The malt is grown by regional farmers and processed into a crispy lager together with hand-picked hop varieties. The drink gets its final touch during the extra-long maturation in the storage cellars deep under the brewery. The brewers take their work very seriously, because their beer carries the message of the Czech art of brewing out into the world.
The best seller in the range is Budweiser Budvar’s Original Czech Lager. The brew comes with a balanced 5.0% alcohol content and mild 22 bitterness units. In the glass, it presents itself in a very classic way: Blossom-white head of foam on crystal-clear gold. A delicate cloud of light grain, floral hops and forest honey fills the air. The first sip reveals a light-footed, lean beer with a refreshing blend of malt, freshly baked biscuits, honey, tangy citrus, and grassy and floral undertones.
