Collaborations are commonplace in the craft beer industry. They give the brewers the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues about brewing techniques, tricks, recipes and tricks. The beer connoisseur also benefits from this, because when ingenious brewers come together, the result is almost always a hit.
This definitely applies to the Double Dry Hopped Double IPA Two Suns, which was created in a collaboration between the Estonian brewery Pühaste and their friends from the Pipeworks Brewing Company. Pipeworks is a Chicago-based brewery specializing in creative craft beers, and Pühaste does the same in Tartu. Together, the two teams have created a juicy India Pale Ale that fully exploits the potential of the aromatic hops Enigma, Mosaic and Centennial.
Two Suns flows into the glass in a radiant gold tone and shimmers copper when exposed to light. A stately crown of dense, fine-pored foam sits enthroned on the honey-colored beer with its cloudy body, which smells tempting of tropical fruit, spicy pine resin and tangy citrus fruits. The initial taste follows the olfactory first impression: In a fruity explosion, strong notes of sun-ripened pineapple and golden mango appear on the tongue and combine with sweet and sour blood orange and exotic passion fruit to form an irresistible mixture. The crowning finale tastes of citrus fruit and rounds off the fruity play of aromas with crisp bitterness.
