With their latest beer, the Lervig brewery from Norway is making a bold statement: In their opinion, non-alcoholic beers are the new soft drinks – and we are not averse to this assumption!
Sodas and pops are generally veritable sugar bombs, offering little culinary depth or added value. Excessive sweetness and artificial flavors permeate most of the selection. Non-alcoholic beers, on the other hand, shine with a rich variety of flavors and contain no added sugar at all. They are also said to have a certain isotonic effect, and the brew itself is sure to lift your spirits, regardless of whether it comes with alcohol or not.
Lervig's No Worries Grapefruit is a feather-light beer with 0.5% alcohol. The brew pours from the colorful can in a delicate, cloudy orange-gold hue, crowned with a veil of white foam. A strong aroma of grapefruit entices the palate to take a sip. The first sip reveals a light body with substance. Tart, bitter, and fruity grapefruit takes center stage, but a discerning palate can detect a wealth of different citrus fruits. No Worries Grapefruit is a refreshing treat for anyone who fancies a brew and wants to avoid the headache the next morning. And, of course, for those who already feel a bit thirsty at lunchtime.
