The Imperial Stout from Nøgne Ø more than lives up to its princely roots: The deep dark beer specialty scores with a voluminous body, refined aromas and fine depth of taste. The beer is infused with strong roasted aromas and rich notes of dark chocolate and aromatic coffee and, thanks to its cultivated sweetness, is wonderfully suitable as a beery dessert. The brewers recommend their porter as a harmonious addition to dark chocolate and other chocolaty desserts and come up with a very special dessert idea: a beer float with creamy vanilla ice cream and a good shot of well-tempered porter.
Whether it’s dessert or not, we like the Imperial Stout from Nøgne Ø on every occasion.
The dark beer specialty is presented in deep black mahogany in the glass and is adorned with a veil of hazelnut-brown foam. A promising scent of roasted malt, ripe red fruits, toffee and chocolate beguiles the senses and tempts you to take the first sip. This keeps all promises and inspires with a velvety-soft mouthfeel and full-bodied aroma. Strong malt provides fine roasted aromas and creamy notes of caramel, delicately melting chocolate and freshly roasted coffee beans. The heavy sweetness of red fruits joins in, as well as spicy hints of liquorice, vanilla and herbs. A hint of smoke brings a campfire flair into the aromas, the pointed bitterness cleverly balances the sweet components.
