The idea behind this beer is a very delicious one: the brewers at Sakiškių alus wanted to create a hoppy dessert. Said and done.
The result of the dessert-oriented creation of the Lithuanian brewers is a pink-red dream: Sakiškių alus Raspberry Shake is a New England IPA brewed with oat flakes and heavenly raspberries. After the beer had been cold-hopped twice with the highly aromatic hops Mosaic, Cotra and Enigma, the brewers added lactose, which gives the tempting hop drink its incomparably creamy character and delicate sweetness. To top it all off, frozen raspberries were added to the fermented beer. They give the NEIPA not only its great color, but also the rich raspberry aroma that elevates the Raspberry Shake from beer to hoppy dessert.
Sakiškių alus creation presents itself in the summery color of red, almost ripe raspberries in the glass and smells as if one had just picked a handful of freshly harvested fruits from grandma’s raspberry hedge. Fresh and fruity, delicately sweet and very subtly sour. And the raspberry bomb is also convincing in terms of taste: the hops make the start and delight the tongue with a crisp bouquet. The raspberry comes in after this brilliant start and caresses the palate with soft, juicy-sweet raspberry notes.
Fresh, fruity and, thanks to the lactose, wonderfully ceremonial, Raspberry Shake is the perfect summer beer.
