Italian cuisine is world-renowned for its sophistication and intense aroma. People come from all over the world to be cooked for by the nonnas and mums of Italy. Each region of the boot has its own style and enriches the Italian landscape of pleasure with local specialties. You can sink into focaccia, pasta, formaggio, antipasti, pizza, dolci and seafood for weeks at a time without ever getting sick of it. The dishes enchant with their simplicity and down-to-earthness: the simplest ingredients are turned into the finest dishes under the expert hands of the chefs. The Italians’ devotion to food is evident in their menus. Enjoyment begins with an aperitif in the early evening. Handy snacks such as olives, chips or small sandwiches are served with a cocktail. The actual dinner begins with the antipasti, a range of cold and hot appetizers, and continues with the primo piatto. This second course is considered the first of two main courses and is usually pasta or a soup. This is followed by meat, fish or seafood as secondo piatto. The crowning glory is the dessert.
Of course, all sorts of wines go well with menus of this kind, but we would like to recommend the Italian Pilsner from Sakiškių alus!
