The margarita is a cocktail that often appears in movies. In romantic comedies, the ladies of high society always have a whole pitcher of it for brunch. The popular drink is drunk from long-stemmed martini glasses or specially designed margarita glasses. According to legend, the drink comes from Mexico and was developed in honor of a legendary showgirl. The classic margarita combines tequila with orange liqueur and lime juice, but every bartender has their own recipe for it. Traditionally, the cocktail is served over ice in a salt-rimmed glass and isn’t just great for brunch.
The Sakiškių alus brewery, together with their colleagues from the Lithuanian bar Hop Doc, came up with a slightly more unconventional variant: Their interpretation of the drink is a gose. The fine sour beer was adapted to the aroma of the margarita with lime and orange zest, salt and coriander seed.
Sakiškių alus Margarita Gose presents itself in a delicately cloudy honey gold and is crowned with a fleeting hint of foam. Scent and taste are characterized by a sparkling conglomerate of lime and orange. The coriander seeds bring an earthy herbal note into play and the salt harmoniously rounds off the play of aromas. Citrus-fresh acidity, fruity sweetness, salty hints and a subtle tartness form a tasty whole that tastes good with brunch, an aperitif, with a barbecue and at any time of the day or night.
