Anyone who loves breakfast will be familiar with granola. Granola is a type of crunchy muesli sprinkled over yogurt, fruit salad, and oatmeal, giving it that extra special flavor. Granola can be purchased or made at home. It consists of any mixture of oat and other cereal flakes, nuts, raisins or dried fruit, desiccated coconut, chocolate chips, seeds, and spices, which are thickened, sweetened, and baked in the oven until crispy. The combination is highly individual and depends on personal taste and dietary restrictions.
For a long time, granola and beer had nothing to do with each other, serving at different times of the day. But now the Sakiškių alus brewery has combined breakfast and after-work snack in a delicious way, presenting us with its Imperial Granola Stout.
This sophisticated blend of crunchy muesli and Imperial Dark Ale brings a voluminous 10.2% alcohol content to the glass and shines in the darkest shade of mahogany. The beer, with its hazelnut-brown head, contains a granola mix of oat flakes, roasted nuts, dried berries, and honey. This extra ingredient is already noticeable in the nose, delivering both olfactory and culinary notes of creamy forest honey, roasted nuts, and dark berries. On the palate, hints of freshly brewed coffee and fiery schnapps join in, along with a roasted bitterness.
You’ve definitely never experienced granola like this before!
