The brewing process is a complex and multi-stage process in which beer is made from water, malt, hops and yeast. The first step is to make a mash from water and crushed malt. The starch in the grain is converted into sugar, which the yeast later uses as the basis for its work. A waste product from this stage is the spent grains, which can be recycled as animal feed or as an ingredient in bread. The finished wort is then sent to the wort kettle, where the hops come into play. It gives the beer its typical bitterness and gives the drink the finest aromas and fragrances. After boiling, the hot wort is cooled and sent to a fermentation tank, where yeast is added to it. During fermentation, the yeast breaks down the sugar and produces alcohol and carbon dioxide. After fermentation, the beer is filled into bottles or kegs and left to mature. Depending on the style of beer, this maturing process can take several weeks or even months.
