A drinking game is an evening pastime designed to get everyone involved drunk in as little time as possible. It is played at celebrations and parties and the focus is not really on enjoying the alcoholic drink, but rather on consuming as much of it as possible. Fun for students, a nightmare for anyone who doesn’t want to spend their weekend in bed with a hangover and those who prefer to enjoy themselves consciously.
The German Beer Academy has been training beer sommeliers for years and, in the context of barley juice, clearly stands for quality over quantity. But because they are not opposed to the joy of drinking, they have come up with their own game. The beer sommelier game is a clever pastime in which the participants taste a beer. The challenge lies in the task: the aim is to correctly taste the specific properties of the brew being tasted. You define the taste, color, style, type of fermentation, alcohol content and a few other characteristics and place round chips on your guesses. After a predetermined number of rounds or beers, the person with the best palate wins.
The game was developed by beer expert Markus Raupach and is a great way to put your beer knowledge to the test and impress your friends with your expertise!
