A full-bodied, golden-yellow cellar beer. Originally, the term "Zwickel" referred to the sampling tap on the beer storage tank. Only the brewmaster was permitted to use a special key to "zwickel" the tank and take a sample of the unfiltered beer. Today, the Zwickel beer style is synonymous with Kellerbier. It falls somewhere between a Helles and a Pilsner, meaning it's a beer with a full body and a pronounced hop character.
