This new addition to the fancy range of the Freigeist building collective is a very special treat: the Barley Wine Freistadt Plumberg is brewed with smoked plums. These not only give the special beer its name, but also its extraordinary taste. The dark aroma evokes associations of warm late summer nights, walks through orchards with trees that bend under their lush weight, the first juicy plum of the year and cozy campfires.
Freistadt Plumberg appears in a magnificent ruby red in the glass and shimmers in the most wonderful copper colors. A crown of firm, stable foam sits atop the beer and exudes a tempting scent of sweet roasted malt, ripe, dark summer fruits and a salty hint of smoked ham. Exciting! The initial taste presents a voluminous body with a bouquet of strong aromas. The malt appears dominant and meets aromas of ripe plums, raisins, creamy caramel and dark molasses on the tongue. An exquisite smoke aroma runs like a common thread through the drinking pleasure and makes the Barley Wine a taste experience.
Our insider tip for this delicious beer? Fill luxurious Medjool dates with fine goat cheese and walnuts, wrap with wafer-thin Serrano ham and fry in a hot pan. Serve over a handful of lamb's lettuce and garnish with a good olive oil, a little honey and fresh pomegranate seeds. Plus a Freistadt Plumberg - a feast for the senses!
