What sounds like a humorous description of Bierothek® is actually a French expression that can often be found on street signs. However, Sauf Service does not mark any of our branches in France, but mostly streets that are not allowed to be driven on and things that do not work. Sauf Service means something like “out of order” and has recently been emblazoned not only on signs in France, but also on the label of a beer.
Sauf Service is a creation from Freigeist and was brewed in cooperation with Piggy Brewing. The Fruited Sour Beer is made with guava and Timut pepper and is characterized by its wonderful fruitiness and cheeky pepper kick.
The light beer has a cloudy orange tone in the glass and is crowned by an impressive amount of slightly tinted foam. A fine scent of exotic guava, ripe melon and white pepper fills the nose. The initial taste presents a medium body with wonderfully refreshing notes of orange, lemon, lime and yellow apricot. Guava and melon are full-bodied and add a fine acidity to the fruity aromas. A touch of spice and an unmistakable pepper note bring a breath of fresh air into the beer glass and harmonize wonderfully with the sweet and sour fruit aromas.
A great sour beer from Freigeist Bierkultur!
