The Kräusen is a very special beer specialty in the wide range of the Kundmüller Brewery: The naturally cloudy beer is not simply brewed and bottled; before it ends up in the bottles, it is refined with a delicious young beer. This process is called "ruffling" among brewers. The light Kräusen from Kundmüller is a prime example of this traditional beer style and is wonderfully refreshing and dangerously tasty.
The Weiherer Krausen flows into the glass in the color of liquid sunshine and is wonderfully naturally cloudy. A crown of airy, white foam sits enthroned on the beer and exudes a fine scent of malt, delicately roasted grain, fresh fruit, grassy hops and lemon. The initial taste follows the olfactory first impression and presents a beer with a velvety mouthfeel and a pleasant taste. The full-bodied taste of sun-dried grain is gradually joined by delicious aromas of freshly mown grass, spicy yeast, tangy lemon, herbs and floral hops. A fine bitterness and a touch of green apple elegantly round off the play of aromas. The finish is bitter, dry and crisp.
The green beer gives the Krausen its special freshness and verve. We recommend the Weiherer Kräusen Hell to those who have not yet tasted this original Franconian beer style.
