Fans of the Maisel & Friends brewery know that the company’s brewers like to experiment. The masters of fine beers like to reshuffle the cards and give down-to-earth beers their very own stamp. With their work Fruity Tornado they have made a real classic: the wheat. With a lot of hops up their sleeves, the team gave the Bavarian favorite a neat twist and brought the creamy banana character a number of exciting playmates.
Fruity Tornado presents itself in a red-gold shimmering color in the glass and forms a fragrant crown of dense, stable foam. The tuned wheat is initially classic on the nose: notes of ripe banana, spicy yeast and cloves tempt you to drink. However, the first sip reveals that the beer was spiked with a lot of hops. A cornucopia of tropical fruit notes joins the banana and, in addition to mango, papaya, pineapple and co., also provides an exotic touch of coconut. Tangy citrus fruits bring summery freshness and a fine acidity to the aromas. The soft basic aroma of the wheat harmonizes wonderfully with the hoppy whirlwind.
Incidentally, this juicy summer hit was penned by the trainees. Every year, the trainees from Maisel & Friends are allowed to brew a final beer together, which is included in the brewery’s range in a limited edition.
