Together with its latest series, the Maisel & Friends brewery is introducing us to a new employee: The Hoplander is a woman with a top-secret mission who is rarely found in the hallowed halls of the brewery. This is because she roams the hop gardens of the world all year round. She defies all dangers, faces every obstacle, no matter how insurmountable, climbs rugged peaks, swims through raging rivers, faces wild animals and lets nothing and no one deter her from her goal. What is she searching for so tirelessly? The best hops of the year, the most aromatic cones and the most beguiling taste. On behalf of the Maisel & Friends brewery and its collaboration partner BathHaas, she tracks down the one hop variety that makes all the others pale in comparison, season after season.
In 2024, they chose the Eclipse variety. This special hop grows in the sun-drenched gardens of Australia and is characterized by its unusual combination of sweet citrus notes and spicy pine tips. Maisel & Friends puts this sensational find in the spotlight with their Single Hop IPA Hoplander: The brew combines gentle wheat and barley malt with juicy mandarin, grated lemon peel, pine resin, ripe kiwi, pink grapefruit and a handful of forest herbs - fruity, fresh, spicy and so delicious that you just have to congratulate the Hoplander on her choice!
