When Michael König and Jamie Dietenhofer met at Braukunst Live! in Munich in 2015, they had no idea that this would be the beginning of a long-lasting friendship. The beer sommelier from Maisel & Friends and the brewmaster and founder of the Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. brewery had a good connection from the start and stayed in touch over the next few years. And because the best friendships in the beer business lead to collaborations, this is what happened in the case of Micha and Jamie: After Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. invited their friends to the annual Lagerville Festival at the end of 2022, it quickly became clear that the Maisel & Friends staff did not want to travel to California empty-handed. After some consideration, they came to the conclusion that it should be a Bavarian craft beer with a Californian flair.
The choice finally fell on a Maibock with select barley malts and a whole handful of American aroma hops: Bockville borrows its juicy fruity character, harmonious bitterness and spicy resin notes from the Callista, Mosaic, Herkules, Saphir and Simcoe varieties. The Franconian-American brew has an impressive 7.3% alcohol content and an irresistible taste profile of grapefruit, lemon zest, pineapple, passion fruit, wild berries and mango. Gentle notes of pine resin and a mild bitterness balance the sweet fruitiness excellently.
