This beer specialty comes from the Riedenburger Brauhaus and is a real hop bomb. Dolden Sud is an IPA affectionately called Bavarian India Pale Ale by the brewers.
The IPA stems from a real emergency: the English in the colonies missed their good English ale. There was a lack of both brewing utensils and the necessary raw materials in the distance, so they wanted to transport the ale from the good old homeland to distant India. However, this project raised completely new difficulties, because not every beer survives such a long, arduous journey without damage. To increase its shelf life, an extra portion of hops and a little more alcohol were added to the beer. The plan was to simply dilute the beer back to its traditional strength on site. Once tasted, however, beer drinkers were pleased to find that the beer tasted much better undiluted than the original. The IPA was born!
The Dolden Sud IPA from the Riedenburger Brauhaus is brewed from organic raw materials and impresses with a delicately balanced mixture of hop bitterness, malt sweetness and yeast spice. The IPA flows into the glass in a slightly cloudy gold tone and forms a fine-pored, beige foam head. A fine scent of sun-ripened grain, spicy pine resin, earthy hops and tangy citrus fruit rises to the nose and tempts you to take the first sip. The initial taste presents a dry IPA with crisp bitterness, elegant hop notes and fresh fruitiness.
Succeeded!
