The Latin word "magnus" has a number of meanings, all revolving around size, height and scope. It can mean high, wide, large or long, but it is also used to express words such as considerable, significant, strong, noble and mighty. Magnus in every sense represents a high level, a maximum or - in the form "maximus" - a superlative.
The S. Riegele brewery chose Magnus as the name for a very special brew, which was thought up by the multi-award-winning master brewer Frank Müller and the world champion beer sommelier Sebastian Priller-Riegele. Their joint work is a barrel-aged Kriek that was fermented with three types of selected yeast from their own and Belgian breeding and flavored with honey. The hand-crafted tipple was stored on wood and, in addition to the fiery 10.0% alcohol content, brings an incomparably harmonious, complex and deep moment of enjoyment to the glass.
Maximus is brewed with a trio of barley, oat and wheat malt and is presented in a magnificent ruby red with an ivory-coloured head. A symphony of oak, ripe heart cherries and cinnamon fills the air and entices you to take a sip. The sensual taste is made up of strong red wine, spicy wood, vanilla, creamy blossom honey, juicy cherries and winter spices. The alcohol contributes a warmth that spreads pleasantly throughout body and soul after just a few sips.
Magnus 24 is an incomparably exquisite beer pleasure, limited to 1000 bottles.
