The founding year of a company is a special date. If this point in time is also an incredible 600 years ago, that’s a real reason to celebrate! The Rittmayer Brewery from Hallerndorf can trace its brewing history back to the year 1422, making it one of the oldest breweries in Franconia.
In honor of the magic year 1422, the brewers have come up with a beer of the same name: 1422 is a stately light beer that impresses with its unfiltered character and finest yeast. The tasty beer flows into the glass in a beautifully cloudy grain gold and completes its attractive appearance with a white crown of stable, medium-pored foam. Scents of fruity malt, grassy hops, sour citrus fruit and subtle caramel jubilate on the nose - a tempting mixture that makes you want to take the first sip. The inevitable sip refreshes body and mind with a skillful balance of spicy grain and bitter hops. The beer presents itself on the palate with a silky texture, a bubbly mouthfeel and mild carbon dioxide, giving the taste buds an aromatic feast of creamy caramel, sun-ripened grain, fragrant straw and noble vanilla. The hops underline the beer enjoyment with a light-footed bitterness and elegant citrus notes.
One should celebrate the festivals as they come — we succeed particularly well with a cool 1422 in our hands. By the way, there’s also a festival beer version !
