Aventinus from Schneider Weisse is the oldest Doppelbock in Bavaria - a real classic and extremely tasty!
This beer specialty has been brewed for more than 100 years and has since built up a large fan base with its intense, full-bodied aromas and delicately balanced taste. Aventinus delights with a range of extraordinary flavors that extend from banana to raisins to licorice.
The fine beer flows into the glass in a strong chestnut brown and shines in all facets of ruby red. A slightly tinted foam crowns the beer and is fed by fine pearls. A delicious scent of freshly baked stone oven bread and sun-ripened malt tickles your nose and makes you want to take the first sip. This reveals a malty beer that is infused with fine hop aromas. Dark plum, sweet raisins, soft caramel and spicy licorice caress the palate, and a pleasant tartness rounds off the aromatics.
Aventinus is the perfect companion for cozy evenings by the fireplace or in front of a crackling campfire. The intense aromas and the alcohol content of 8.2% warm body and soul with a fire that runs from the palate down to the stomach. The beer tastes particularly delicious when accompanied by hearty meat dishes and heavy, sweet desserts. For example, a fine roast venison with homemade cranberry jam, dark roasted rosemary potatoes and a creamy red wine sauce as well as a winter side dish of lamb’s lettuce, pomegranate seeds and goat cheese go wonderfully with the strong beer.
