The private Schönram country brewery is building a delicious monument to the Bavarian brewing tradition: With its range of hand-crafted, down-to-earth classics, it is setting an example in the constantly changing, fast-moving beer scene. It contrasts fleeting trends and mass-produced brews with quality and craftsmanship and has attracted a wide following with its fine beers.
One of the most popular brews at Schönramer is the wheat beer. The classic beer style was designed in the traditional manner and does not use any modern interpretations or unusual ingredients. A wheat beer, as it has been drunk in Bavaria for hundreds of years.
The delicacy presents itself in a copper-red shimmering orange-gold in the glass and forms a crown of creamy ivory foam. A strong veil of yeast permeates the beer. A play of aromas from exotic spices, oven-fresh banana bread and orange marmalade tickles the nose and tempts you to take the first sip. The first sip is wonderfully full-bodied and enchants the palate with a skilful balance of velvety fullness and tangy freshness. Soft malt meets ripe banana, orange zest and a hint of pineapple. A potpourri of yeast, clove, mace and vanilla rounds off the pleasure with a spicy finish. The sparkling carbonic acid gives the brew a wonderful effervescence that harmonizes excellently with the silky consistency. Fruity sweetness, velvety grain and a delicate hop bitterness - what more could you want?
