Barrel-aged beers are a pleasure at any time of day or year, but we especially appreciate the intense, powerful and mostly dark specialties when it gets less comfortable outside. At the end of a really cold day, we stoke the fire, snuggle up on the sofa with a fluffy blanket, read a good book and let our body and soul be warmed by a brew that has matured in peace in an oak barrel.
The team at the BRLO brewery seems to feel the same way, because just in time for the start of winter they have put together a beer package that will keep you warm in two ways: Beer & Socks BRLO Barrel Aged gives us two wonderfully aromatic brews from the barrel and a pair of comfortable socks. The white socks feature two black lines and the brewery logo, and not only keep your feet warm, they look pretty good too. The beer accompaniment is the popular Rye Wine , created in collaboration with the STORK CLUB Whiskey Distillery, and alongside a fiery 10.0% alcohol content, it brings a creamy symphony of grains, caramel, candied red fruits and butterscotch to the glass. The package also comes with a bottle of Scotch Ale , an equally rich brew that tastes of smoked meats, forest honey, toffee, crispy bread crust, vanilla and fine whiskey.
