The Franconian brewery Hummel from Merkendorf rings in the first Advent every year with a very special beer specialty: Their dark festival beer is a strong strong beer with full-bodied aromas and a harmonious character.
The seasonal delicacy comes with a tasty 5.6% alcohol content and flows into the glass in a crystal-clear, shiny gold tone. A crown of dense, delicately tinted foam sits enthroned on the honey-colored body, which invites you to take the first sip with an enticing scent of roasted nuts, caramel and sun-ripened cereals. The initial taste reveals a well-balanced beer with a soft sweetness, fine spice and well-balanced bitterness. Roasted malt forms a stable flavor base on which notes of freshly baked bread, creamy toffee and latte blossom. The hops not only contribute the complementary bitterness, but also provide mild notes of herbs and summer meadow flowers.
Since Advent is not the only opportunity to celebrate in the year, the fine dark festival beer is also brewed for Easter, Lent, Pentecost and the church fair in Merkendorf. You have to celebrate the festivals as they come, and the best way to celebrate is with a cool, dark festival beer in hand! Cheers to the well-filled festival calendar!
