In Germany almost everyone has a Katrin in their circle of friends and acquaintances. The dear neighbor, the funny school friend from elementary school, the distant aunt who always bakes good cakes or the work colleague who always finds the right words when you're having a bad day. If you don't know Katrin yet, we recommend Katrin from Hohmann. The good one is a comforting light that always puts you in a good mood and is something very special.
Katrin is brewed with the historic Chevalier barley variety. This is also used to make whiskey and is particularly common in the Westphalian region. After the old barley variety had its heyday in the 19th century, it has now been used again for brewing and distilling for several years. What makes Chevalier special is the soft, fine consistency it gives the beer. It also brings the incomparable freshness of freshly mown grass into the beer and ensures a sunny yellow gold tone, which is also the color Katrin from Hohmann's brewery comes with. When poured, the beautiful blonde smells wonderfully of fruity hops and grainy malt. A hint of yeast complements the scent. The taste test reveals the magic of Chevalier barley: the fine aroma of freshly mown grass mixes on the tongue with the fruity bitterness of hops and soft caramel. The finish is hoppy, dry and subtly yeasty.
Katrin is the best friend we all want!
