As in many places, beer in the Ruhrpott used to be one thing above all else: tasty. After hard work underground, people were thirsty for full-bodied, straightforward and uncomplicated beers. There was no place for knick-knacks in their glasses, they longed for brews that flattered body and soul and simply tasted good.
The Mücke Craft Beer brewery builds on this point and continues the tradition of delicious beer in the west. For a long time, the Ruhr area was considered a desert of indulgence, at least in the rest of Germany - that is currently changing, thanks in part to Dennis and Michael. The two only brew as a part-time job, but still put their heart and soul into their brewing project.
A classic from their homeland is the Dortmunder Export, which the two have catapulted into the present with modern hops. Their version is called Ruhr Export and, in addition to an alcohol content of 5.5%, brings a nice fullness of malt and fine hop components to the glass. The newly launched pot beer smells of golden grain, sun-dried straw and dark caramel. The hops deliver harmonious notes of freshly mown grass and floral hints. The taste test reveals a stable body that tastes of soft malt, toffee, creamy blossom honey, fragrant hay and yeasty bread dough. A hint of hops and a complementing bitterness complete the flavor profile.
