If the brewers at Mahr Bräu have their way, there are situations in which “[...] a little lightness (in) the Fläschla” is needed. This applies if you feel an urgent thirst for beer in the afternoon, if you refresh yourself with a beer on the bike tour and then want to continue cycling, if you want to drink a quick beer on the way to an appointment, after training and actually always in summer . When temperatures are in the double digits and the sun is beating down, you don’t need a heavy, complex, high proof brew. Rather, one thirsts for cool, light-footed refreshment.
And this is exactly where the Mahrs Bräu comes into play again. Following their wish for "[...] lightness (in the) Fläschla", the team came up with a lean Sommerpils that scores with a mild character and feather-light 2.8% alcohol content. The bottom-fermented culinary delight smells of spicy yeast, oven-fresh bread and herbs. In terms of taste, the Bamberg beer delivers a skilfully balanced mixture of hearty grain, bread crust, herbal notes and a hint of fruit. A delicate, well-dosed bitterness skilfully rounds off the fine Sommerpils.
Its creators prefer to eat fish with their Pils. Fresh trout from the grill, for example with olive oil and lemon marinade, dill potatoes, butter and a generous dollop of herb quark.
