That's that delicious Dröppke!
The DoppelSticke is a powerful double bock from Uerige that was actually designed for the American market. The strong beer is armed with an extra portion of alcohol and a truckload of flavor for the journey across the pond. But even without having traveled thousands of kilometers, the DoppelSticke tastes extremely good!
The DoppelSticke flows into the glass in a deep, dark mahogany tone and is crowned by a creamy, hazelnut-brown foam. As soon as you open the swing top, a fantastic scent fills your nose: creamy caramel, roasted almonds, dark stone fruits and freshly baked bread crust tempt you to take your first sip. This reveals an incomparably voluminous beer that offers a true explosion of taste. It starts with the hops: green and with the aromas of fresh herbs and mown grass, they caress the palate before the malt takes over with a powerful aroma. Buttery caramel, roasted malt, delicately melting dark chocolate and rum-soaked raisins kiss the tongue. The brilliant drinking experience results in a mild, slightly bitter finish that brings with it a gentle coffee acidity.
Wow.
The brewery recommends storing the DoppelSticke in a cool, dark cellar for about a year before enjoying it. In this way, the aromas become even more potent - it's hard to imagine what heights the aroma intensity could reach as a result!
