The eye eats - and drinks - too, we all agree on that. There used to be beers with a tempting look, but between all the Pilsner and Hellen there was little variety in the beer glass. Things are very different today: everyone’s favorite drink is no longer just shiny, crystal clear and golden, it comes in a wide variety of colors and consistencies. Mainly responsible for this development is the craft beer movement, which has flooded the market with new and rediscovered old styles and multiplied the beer selection.
We find beers that come in red facets particularly appealing. An opulent example is Monster Party Episode 3. This American-inspired India Pale Ale presents itself in a honey-gold shimmering copper-red in the glass and is crowned with a good amount of ivory-colored foam. The beer is a collaboration between the breweries Unverhopft, Analog and Gorilla Cervecería Berlin and not only has a lot to offer visually.
The golden-red beauty smells of freshly grated grapefruit zest, sun-ripened apricots, spicy pine needles and light malt. The flavor profile follows this successful first impression and scores with a harmony of blood orange, grapefruit, apricot and resin.
