The coasts of the world have always had a magical attraction: we love water and its calming effect on us, breathe in the salty sea air, listen to the wind as it dances through the beach grass in gentle waves, watch the wild flight of seagulls, eat fish sandwiches Pickles and onions, collect shells, driftwood or glass cut from the pebbles, walk along the beach, bury our toes in the sun-warmed sand, plunge into the rushing waters and drink ice-cold beer with the best view.
The team at Irish brewery Rye River also loves the coastal vibe. For their latest creation, however, they most likely weren’t inspired by the rugged cliffs of the Irish Sea, but instead had the west and east coasts of the United States in mind. Known for their long-standing rivalry for the title of best India Pale Ale, these two areas are extremely proud of their contemporary beer culture. The Coastal IPA from Rye River is a modern twist on the classic American IPA, whose aroma profile is based on the Citra, Simcoe and Talus hop varieties. This enchanting trio is supported by five different malts and brings juicy notes of pink grapefruit and ripe citrus fruit to the glass.
