Evening is the transition from day to night and the end of work for those of us who don’t work shifts. We finish our day’s work, return home, take care of last-minute necessities and prepare for the night’s rest. We relax, change out of formal wear for something more comfortable, eat, settle down in a cozy spot and ring in the end of the day with a cold beer.
Eventide is an ancient word used synonymously with today’s "evening". It is also the title of a brew from Rye River Brewing that adds a festive glow to any evening with chocolatey sweetness, caramel creaminess and strong espresso bitterness.
The brewery has created an Irish stout that contains a whole range of exquisite malts in addition to the Columbus hop variety. Brown and light malt, chocolate malt, the Carafa Special II variety and roasted barley not only provide the strong mahogany color and silky foam, but also a robust, multifaceted aroma and taste. The brew offers a bouquet of fine cocoa, melting chocolate, freshly brewed mocha, spicy leather and roasted aromas and ends in a dry, slightly bitter finish.
