What started as a showroom for a brewing equipment manufacturer quickly blossomed into a pioneer of the German craft beer movement. We're talking about the Bavarian brewery Camba, which is not only home to countless excellent craft beers, but has also produced a whole host of great brewers.
In order to impressively present the functionality of its brewing systems to its customers, the brewing equipment manufacturer BrauKon decided in 2008 to build a showroom with a fully functional brewing system. Truchtlaching, a district of Seeon, is located in the idyllic Traunstein district. Markus Lohner, founder of BrauKon, bought the old mill on the banks of the Alz and equipped it with a state-of-the-art brewing system. An innovative show brewery with the latest technology was created. The name Camba refers to Bavaria's centuries-old brewing tradition and was previously used to describe the brewing room in monasteries. Camba Bavaria was born and brewing could begin. The first brews in BrauKon's showroom were so successful, however, that the brewing equipment manufacturer soon decided not to just share the beer with potential customers. Markus Lohner decided to give the small brewery a chance and launched the beers brewed in the showroom onto the market. His courage was rewarded and Camba Bavaria had to be expanded after a very short time. The second location in Seeon now houses the brewery equipment factory and a state-of-the-art brewery where Camba Bavaria beers are brewed.
Since then, Camba has stood for good, Bavarian beer. The brewery practices honest brewing craftsmanship based on the rich tradition and wealth of experience of countless generations of brewers. With a great spirit of discovery and the unique cultural landscape of Bavaria as inspiration, the team brews beers with character. The brewers combine brewing tradition with innovation and the latest technology.
