Sunsets are one of those things in life that are absolutely fabulous and cost nothing. If the weather and our agenda cooperate, we can find a nice spot every evening and watch the sun bathe the sky in its most magnificent light before disappearing behind the horizon. Especially in winter, the sunset is a true spectacle and presents us with all shades of red, pink, violet, yellow and orange.
The Camba Bavaria brewery has decided to create the sunset in liquid form for its latest Braumeister Edition: Their New Zealand Sunset is a deep red beer that turns on the sun in the glass and sweetens every evening - regardless of whether it is with or without a dreamy one Sunset outside the window!
The tasty red ale was penned by master brewer Florian Schmitt and is brewed with a quintet of Pilsener malt, Carafa Spezial TII, Cara Red, Cara Münch TII and meladoidid malt. This special mixture is not only responsible for the wonderful ruby color, it also conjures up a full-bodied and diverse malt aroma in the beer, giving us roasted aromas, berry tones and soft grain notes. The abundance of grain is offset by the two hop varieties Motueka and Magnum. The former comes from New Zealand and was certainly an inspiration for the name of the brew.
