The English term "mute" is familiar to most of us because it describes the muting of mobile phones, video conferences and computers. We set our ringtone to "mute" when we need a little break from the hustle and bustle and want to drink a cup of coffee or a beer without being disturbed. We "mute" the sound on our computer when we want to bite into our sandwich in a meeting without disturbing our colleagues with chewing noises, and we set our laptop to "mute" when we are sitting in a lecture and want to play GTA with our fellow students in the front row.
The tastiest variant of this extremely common Anglicism, however, has absolutely nothing to do with electronic devices and noises: Mute is the name of a beer from Atelier Vrai and refers at most to the plain, white can.
The beer behind this minimalist label is a juicy New England IPA that brings a decent 6.5% alcohol content and a creamy, velvety-smooth blend of two types of malt and the hops Azacca, Talus and Triumph into the glass. The loud brew presents itself in an opaque gold tone and enchants with an aroma that consists of tart grapefruit, tropical fruit, citrus fruits and a hint of pine resin.
A culinary symphony that we definitely don’t want to “mute”!
