Chewbacca Defense is a beer creation from Atelier Vrais that combines one of our absolute film heroes with one of our favorite series. The hairy giant with the friendly disposition from the world-famous film series is probably familiar to pretty much everyone, but very few people know the Chewbacca Defense. This debating technique comes from a television series that is set in a fictional small town in Colorado and revolves around the adventures of four boys. The award-winning series is bluntly critical of society and satirically takes aim at politics, religion, culture, trends and celebrities. In a fateful episode at the end of the 90s, the so-called Chewbacca Defense emerged when a lawyer from the series talked the opposing position into the ground with a completely nonsensical argument about the character Chewbacca. Today, the strategy is mainly used in discussions about pop culture.

The beer-based homage to the legendary Chewbacca Defense is a cold-hopped West Coast IPA brewed with barley and wheat malt and flavored with Cascade and Motueka hops. The brew has a tame 5.5% alcohol content and, in contrast to its namesake, is extremely straightforward: the golden brew, which is only slightly cloudy, delivers accurate arguments with notes of lime, lemon peel, bready malt, honey and pine resin. The accompanying bitterness closes the case cleanly and leaves you wanting more.
