The Pink Boots Society is an organization that advocates for the rights and equality of women and non-binary people in the brewing and beverage industry. To raise awareness of the importance and influence of FLINTA in the brewing industry, the association has launched the Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day®. This international celebration has been held once a year for some time now and calls on brewers around the world to get involved. Breweries have the opportunity to register to participate or simply purchase the annual hop selection, which is made together with hop grower Yakima Chief Hops, and brew a brew from it. A portion of the proceeds are then donated to charities selected by the Pink Boots Society.
This year’s hop selection includes Ahtanum, El Dorado, HBC 638 and Idaho 7. Yakima Chief Hops donates $3 per hop package sold to the Pink Boots Society. One of the participating breweries is Blech.Brut from Bamberg.
The craft brewery combined the hops with Citra and Krush to create Color Cascade, a cold-hopped New England IPA. The dry-hopped brew has an impressive 6.5% alcohol content and tastes of freshly mown grass, tropical fruit and juicy citrus fruits. Charity can taste so good!
