The Blech.Brut brewery from Bamberg may not be able to bring back summer, but they’ve delivered a beer that offers a few delicious moments of August feeling. PLOOSH is a feather-light smoothie sour, infused with mango, mirabelle plum, and peach for a wonderfully fresh and juicy fruit kick. The brew has the consistency and color of orange juice with pulp and smells like a freshly squeezed cocktail of summer fruits. The egg-yolk yellow beverage doesn’t form a head, but compensates for this shortcoming with a wonderfully grippy, actually thick texture and an enticing fruity aroma. The first sip reveals what the initial olfactory impression already suggested: PLOOSH is a juicy composition of golden mirabelle plum, sun-drenched peach, and exotic mango. The sweetness is balanced by a gentle fruit acidity, and a mild 3.5% alcohol content provides the finishing touch.
