As soon as summer ends, we long for its light, its colors, its warmth, and its fruits. We dream of long, bright days, warm sunbeams on our skin, light clothing, carefree lightness, and fully ripened fruit.
The Blech.Brut brewery from Bamberg may not be able to bring back summer, but they’ve delivered a beer that offers a few delicious moments of August feeling. PLOOSH is a feather-light smoothie sour, infused with mango, mirabelle plum, and peach for a wonderfully fresh and juicy fruit kick. The brew has the consistency and color of orange juice with pulp and smells like a freshly squeezed cocktail of summer fruits. The egg-yolk yellow beverage doesn’t form a head, but compensates for this shortcoming with a wonderfully grippy, actually thick texture and an enticing fruity aroma. The first sip reveals what the initial olfactory impression already suggested: PLOOSH is a juicy composition of golden mirabelle plum, sun-drenched peach, and exotic mango. The sweetness is balanced by a gentle fruit acidity, and a mild 3.5% alcohol content provides the finishing touch.
Anyone who likes smoothies and freshly squeezed juices will love this unconventional beer!
Because the fruity concoction is filled to the brim with fruit, the can should be stored upside down. This ensures that the mango, mirabelle plum, and peach are evenly distributed when pouring.
