Like so many of the creations from Blech.Brut, the latest one also resembles a wonderful fever dream: Cloudborne Kiss shows a fantasy of fluffy cotton wool clouds in front of a pointillist azure sky, in the center of which there is no sun, but a pair of lush, slightly open, pink cherry lips, awakening daydreams of smooching. Instead of a heavenly kiss, Cloudborne Kiss delivers a cold-hopped Double West Coast IPA that is almost as delicious as one.
The beguiling beer speciality from Bamberg gets its kissably soft, silky texture from barley and wheat malt, while the hops Cascade, Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka conjure up the captivating aroma on your lips. The finishing touch is the lively 8.5% alcohol content, which catapults you straight to cloud nine.
Cloudborne Kiss flows into the glass in a delicately cloudy honey gold and piles up a cloud of ivory-colored foam. A captivating symphony of fresh pine breeze, tangy citrus zest and juicy tropical fruits enchants the tip of the nose and seduces you like a siren to take the first sip. The first sip reveals a stable body based on soft malt and sends your taste buds to heaven with tropical fruit, pine resin and citrus notes. The playful, fruity sweetness is wonderfully cushioned by an edgy bitterness. Cloudborne Kiss is a cloudy delight that comes pretty close to the deliciousness of a really good kiss!
