Beer for breakfast is not necessarily something unusual in Bavaria. White sausage, sweet mustard and freshly baked pretzels go hand in hand with hearty wheat, there’s nothing to argue about. In other parts of the country, however, this custom is less common. No beer before four is more popular there.
The brewers of the capital brewery Gorilla Cerveceria Berlin want to change this situation: On the occasion of the 40th birthday of their friend David, the team brewed a celebratory beer and gave it the title David’s Breakfast. David is now a few years past his 40s, but the brewers couldn’t get the idea of a beer breakfast out of their heads, which is why they relaunched David’s Breakfast and, with their Amaretto Latte Porter, have become real Beer Before Four activists become.
The beer, which you can enjoy on your birthday, for breakfast and for all other occasions and times of the day, is brewed with three types of malt, cold brew coffee from the Blue Bean house, lactose and a heavenly syrup made from amaretto, vanilla and cinnamon. The beer specialty comes with a full 7.5% and not only warms body and soul with it, but also with its sinful taste: the roasted aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixes with roasted almonds, vanilla and cinnamon, soft malt and a hint of marzipan into one exquisite symphony.
