In addition to their awareness of the environment, the network of local organic farmers and their knack for the finest beer, the brewers of the Vulkan brewery have another ace up their sleeve: the caves blasted into the basalt rock by the powerful eruption of an ancient volcano, on which the brewery rests . 30 meters underground there is an optimal climate for the storage and maturation of beer. With constant temperature and high humidity, beers develop their full potential. Of course, this has to be exploited!
At the heart of the brewery, beer is stored in majestic wooden barrels. The brewers produce particularly fine wines, which are then refined in the cellar. The historic vaults of the brewery form the deepest beer cellar in the world and produce beers that shine with complex aromas, flavor density and high alcohol content. In order to give their exquisite creations the right look, the beers are filled into champagne bottles and sealed with wax.
A delicious example of cask-aged beers is the Bourbon Barrel Doppelbock, which matured in bourbon casks and, with an alcohol content of 9.5%, provides warmth in body and soul. The powerful beer has a malty character that presents fine nuances of caramel, vanilla and roasted coconut and combines it with the charm and spirit of a noble bourbon.
